Em seguida, no dia 7 de outubro, o Esmeraldino recebe o Bahia, em partida válida pela 26ª rodada do Brasileirão. Atualmente, o time baiano possui 1 ponto a menos que o Goiás, transformando a partida em um confronto direto. Logo após, também em casa, o Goiás recebe o São Paulo. Atualmente, o tricolor paulista é mais um time que disputa posições com o Verdão.
Pela 28ª rodada da competição, encerrando a sequência de jogos em casa, o time goiano recebe o Cuiabá, que ocupa a 11ª posição na tabela, com 29 pontos, apenas três a mais que o Esmeraldino. Posteriormente, Goiás e Fluminense se enfrentam no Maracanã dia 26 de outubro, às 20h.
Encerrando a agenda do mês de outubro, Goiás recebe o Vasco, no Estádio Hailé Pinheiro, dia 28. O time carioca possui 23 pontos na tabela, em 18º lugar e assim como o Verdão, possui objetivos semelhantes. Vasco procura escapar da zona de rebaixamento e por isso, vem mostrando evolução dentro de campo.
