Marquinhos Santos assumiu o Vila Nova no início de agosto e desde então a equipe colorada alcançou duas vitórias, uma derrota e um empate. O treinador foi contratado após a demissão de Claudinei Oliveira, que vinha de uma sequência negativa na Série B, com uma vitória em seis confrontos.

Portanto, aproveitou da convivência com treinadores como Lima e Manuel Maria, para aprimorar seu olhar para o jogo.
Em seguida, o treinador se formou na faculdade de Educação Física e abriu a própria escolinha de futebol: o projeto começou com oito alunos e em determinado momento, mais de 130 pessoas treinavam com Marquinhos. A partir daí, foi convidado para integrar a comissão técnica da equipe sub-20 do Atlético Paranaense, começando assim sua carreira como técnico. Para concluir, ele já comandou times de diversos estados e categorias, tanto de Série A, B e C.
“Hoje eu digo que eu trabalhei do Norte ao sul do país. Do Paysandu ao Juventude, o que me deu uma gama de conhecimento. Um acervo de conhecimento muito grande, de atletas e de conhecimento tático e técnico. Brasil é um continente e o futebol também, ele é disputado e jogado de maneiras diferentes no futebol brasileiro, então isso para mim foi muito rico, ter esse conhecimento, e por isso até que a adaptação aqui no Vila foi muito rápida, porque nesses estudos a gente acaba conhecendo diferentes regiões e entendendo bem a filosofia [de cada uma]”.

Adaptação em Goiânia e no Vila Nova
A princípio, Marquinhos Santos ressaltou que o povo goiano é muito receptivo e que ele foi muito bem recebido pelos torcedores colorados, pelo vestiário do Vila Nova e pela diretoria da equipe. Além disso, o técnico ainda destacou a paixão da torcida do Tigrão, que apoia o time e que está sempre presente no estádio. Ademais, o treinador comentou que busca fazer o melhor trabalho possível para levar alegria ao torcedor.
Por fim, Marquinhos ainda elogiou o trabalho de reestruturação da diretoria do Tigre, em específico do presidente Hugo Jorge Bravo, tanto na construção do elenco e também na mentalidade da equipe. Além disso, o técnico ressalta: “Acho que tem que ter essa ambição de transformar o Vila Nova cada vez maior, tamanho a sua torcida, tamanho a sua história. Então não pode ser diferente”.
O trabalho de Marquinhos Santos
O técnico do Vila Nova afirmou que existe duas versões de si: uma no dia a dia, nos treinos e a outra na hora do jogo, em campo. Acerca da primeira, o treinador afirmou que é um homem equilibrado, observador e que gosta de tudo organizado. Contudo, ele ressalta “Eu sou muito chato nesse ponto. […] Eu gosto de ter tudo organizado, já planejo a semana dentro do modelo de jogo, dentro daquilo que a gente quer desenvolver”. Já o Marquinhos Santos que aparece no horário das partidas prefere de ver a equipe vibrante e quer a vitória: “gosto de ver no jogo aquilo que a gente construiu no treino”.
O confronto com o CRB
A princípio, Marquinhos Santos falou sobre as alterações que o técnico vem treinando com a equipe do Vila Nova, aproveitando o período de treino maior desta semana. Portanto, “a gente procurou ajustar muito o último terço, muita a situação de jogadas ofensivas, de manobras ofensivas, por conta dos jogos em casa. […] O segundo turno, seja Série A ou B é uma competição muito mais acirrada, […] e os jogos em casa são determinantes”.
Para o próximo confronto, Marquinhos não terá à disposição os jogadores Ralf e Guilherme Parede. Contudo, o técnico afirmou que o elenco da equipe é qualificado e que ele confia nos atletas que entrarão para suprir a ausência destes jogadores.

Para Marquinhos, não pode faltar empenho da equipe na sequência da temporada. Além disso, ele ainda destacou que “a vitória não acontece nos 90 minutos. Ademais, é importante destacar que no comando do Tigrão, Marquinhos teve uma derrota, dois empates e duas vitórias.
