De início, Valdemir de Oliveira, de 25 anos, foi revelado pelo Internacional e já passou por clubes como Botafogo-SP, ABC e Brasil de Pelotas. O jogador chegou ao Coritiba no início de 2021 e possui contrato até 2023, porém, não teria tantas oportunidades no elenco titular e optou pela mudança de clube.
Dessa forma, atuou em apenas 29 jogos pelo Coritiba na última temporada, referente a 2022 e não balançou as redes. Apesar do menor aproveitamento, o volante teve papel importante na equipe para o acesso a Série A do Brasileirão. Ao todo, o atleta disputou 74 partidas com a camisa Alviverde, marcou quatro gols e deu sete assistências.
Anteriormente, Val atuou pelo Goiás (2015), Internacional (entre 2015 e 2017 e em 2019), Brasil de Pelotas (2018), ABC (2019) e Botafogo-SP (2020). Por outro lado, além de volante, o jogador também pode atuar como lateral-direito. O contrato com o Dragão terá duração de um ano.
De acordo com informações, o atleta chega em Goiânia nesta terça-feira (13) para realizar exames. Por fim, o Atlético-GO já possui alguns volantes para a próxima temporada: Baralhas, Val, Rhaldney e Mikael. Isaac, jogador da base, também fará parte do elenco Rubro-negro.
Além de Val, o Atlético-GO já acertou contratações com outros quatro jogadores: o volante Igor Ribeiro (ex-Real Noroeste), lateral Rodrigo Soares (ex-Juventude), meia-atacante Vico Duarte (Ex-CRB) e Mikael (ex-Paysandu).
